Should I install DCC in my old HO locomotives?

I have 7 HO locomotives of various ages (none over 10 years).

Should I change my entire HO train layout over to DCC or keep it as an analog set-up?

It depends on how large your layout is.

If it's a small set-up it may not pay to change it over.

But if it's a large layout it would make operations much easier.

I'm guessing you are trying to run all 7 engines at once, this can be done easily with DCC.

You say your locomotives are all less than ten years old.

Depending on the manufacturer you should be able to add DCC to most if not all of them. There are plenty of after market makers for DCC today.

If you have a half way decent hobby shop in your area they can help you choose the correct controller for each engine.

Wiring the track is much easier than wiring the trains.

I say go for it.
