Any ideas on how to set out an INSET package for curriculum development?

For a project I have to produce an inset package. I already know what theme I'm covering and some of the activities I want to use. Problem is, I have never being to an inset training and not sure of the layout. Some professional help will be greatly appreciated...my future career lies on this.

Remember most teachers DETEST inset and feel it often consists of irrelevent time wasting. Try and keep it on a topic they will find interesting and useful.

I've lost count of the dire INSET sessions I used to go to before I changed careers.

I am amazed that you are writing an INSET package and have never been to an INSET training.

I got the impression that most of the INSET trainers I observed had never been to an INSET session themselves-- hence they put on dire sessions.

Make it very active - leave spaces for teachers to fill in answers ( this bulks it out ) and give lots of exercises for them to do

How long is the session and what is the theme? A whole day requires a very different approach to a one hour session, and an art or maths theme would not be the same as Every Child matters or Assessment for Learning.

Basic principle should be interactive, have them doing something as often as possible.
