My first problem is that I'd like the Additional Training section to be on the first page, just after the Secondary Education section. If you go into the Print Layout view you'll see that it's on the second page. I can't seem to get it onto the first page - whenever I try, I just screw up the formatting.

My second problem is in the Additional Training section. The 2nd column doesn't line up with the 1st or 3rd columns. Try as I might, I just can't seem to get them aligned.

Help much appreciated!

I'm 14, and am planning my farm that i want in 10-15 years. I have the layout, and basic stuff i need. Does anyone have any tips on how to start up a business like this. I'm going to get a degree in equine science, and become a horse trainer/instucter. Any tips, or places where i can find training tips would be great. I'm trying to learn and much about training as possible before i do it. thanks!!!

you sound exactly like me and here is a chance to learn from my mistakes. Dont be in such a rush. It takes time, have patience. Getting a degree in equine science is not a hard thing to do but go to a cheaper school. I went to Lake Erie College and it costs almost $25,000 a year to attend. I should have started off at Ohio University which offers an equine science degree and is a lot cheaper. Do a college visitation. I never visited the college until orientation and then I was stuck going. if you can find a way to save money in college, then do it. Like rooming with someone. It is cehaper than living in a single dorm by your self. Room with someone that you dont know. It is a lot more fun that way. Plus, rooming with friends can be a way to break up a great friendship. Dont take your horse. Unless you have millions of dollars, then dont do it. This will also allow you to gain more experience on different types of horses as well.

Buy some books written by John Lyons For the best training tips that you will ever use. Select Quality bloodlines if you intend to breed and raise your own stock. Horse trainers are in big demand these days. At least around here. We keep 10 to 15 colts in training year around. And have 17 brood mares and 4 stallions. The studs make most of the money we bring in, By breeding other peoples mares. They pay the feed bill for most of the horses. It's good to hear about someone your age with a dream! first off remember books can give you some good tips but the best way to learn is buy working under a experienced trainer.

but also remember that no to horses are the same and there are no fast ways to train a good horse.

Best advice you will get. Go work with a trainer. Learn the daily ins and outs in a real life setting. All of the book learning in the world is not worth a hill of beans if you don't have any practical experience. Prospective customers want someone who has been there/done that, not someone who has read about it or written a paper on it. After you spend a few years with a good trainer, then you can go out on your own. A degree in equine science won't mean doodly squat. A better idea is a degree in business management, so your barn can be run efficiently.

Be the princess, let them work for you, get a real degree that will allow you to aford to do as much horse showing as you want - don't waste your time and your parents $ in school for an equine science degree.

I am training to be a Weapons instructor in the Air Training Corps and I have to progress through the Enfield 8 (.22) rifle before I can convert my qualifications on to a larger, more complex weapon. I have found some training 'aide memoirs' for the larger weapons but I am looking to see if anyone has some Aide Memoirs (including everything from the parts, to the range orders to the well known declaration) as the info for the other weapon was from a skill at arms manual and contains the layout and parts description, NSPs, Handing over/taking control of the weapon, load/unload/make safe drills, stripping, cleaning, reassembling, stoppage/IA drills, sling fitting, Range commands, Fire control orders and marksmanship principles. Does anyone have similar for the Enfield 8 (.22) rifle??

Breathing Problems - Please Help!?

I am a gymnast, and have been my entire life. I had an injury earlier this year that put me out of practice for a couple months and when I went back into training again, it was obviously very difficult. I spent the summer training, running, trying to get my endurance back up again, but nothing seemed to be working. I thought that maybe I was just not working hard enough and needed to practice more. Now it's November and it's been around half a year that I've been going to practice 24+ hours a week as well as doing other stuff. I am extremely tired everyday and don't really understand how.

For example - the hardest pass in my floor routine last year, a round-off, whip, 2 1/2 layout twist is now out of my routine because i don't have enough energy to do it. The "easiest" pass in my floor routing last december was a round-off, back handspring, layout 2 1/2 twist (yes this is very different) and I had no problem doing it at the end of my routine last year. Now it's my hardest pass.

Your over doing it trying to get back where you were, thats why you are so tired. There was no pace there. Your body is saying WHAT THE HECK, while your mind is trying to push your body to get back quickly what you missed. Pace yourself. The mind and the body work hand in hand. Listen to both.
Your body just has to get use to you training much harder after all of that time not doing much physical activity. Everything should go back to normal in a little while. I'm planning on traveling to Europe this weekend, and need to work out my connections when I come back.

My train home is 25 mins after the arrival of the Eurostar, from St Pancras Domestic. Does anyone know how far the domestic section (East Midlands Trains) is from the International one? Is 25 mins enough to get to the relevant platform? Does one leave the Eurostar and go straight to where one needs to go, or is there Customs, etc, which has to be taken into account for times?

Definitely Sendai is a better place to party. Sendai's night town-Kokubuncho, has the best nightlife between Tokyo and Sapporo. There is a business hotel right there called "Sendai Kokubucho Hotel". I believe. In any case Sendai is quite compact and you could walk from ekimae to Kokubuncho or catch a cab for about 750 yen. Therefore you have lots of choices in hotels, there are two Washington Hotels on Aoba-dori. The hot spots come and go, so I suggest just starting out at whatever shot bar/izakaya and asking the barman or locals where to move on to. There is also a Sendai nightlife/dining guide they will have on the magazine rack at any Sendai convience store. Be sure to try the beef tounge and hoya-zu. Enjoy!

Yes, it did. The LMR had London termini at Euston and St. Pancras, and later Marylebone when it became responsible for the lines out of that station. Network South East, however, wasn't a 'region' as the others were. That was set up at the time British Rail had given up regions and had subdivided itself into 'business sectors' - NSE, InterCity, Regional and the various freight sectors etc.

I am just utterly confused with the layout of Berlin's city. It seems there are so many regions, mitte, kreuzberg, tiergarten, etc... Could someone suggest me a downloadable map of Berlin? Also I need help with:

1. Where exactly is Ku'damm area? And the KaDaWe which is supposedly in Ku'damm?

2. Is Ostbahnhof the same train station as Zoo Station? I have been seeing only Zoo station on the map when I really need to get to Ostbahnhof.

3. Suggest me a place to stay (preferably a cheap, affordable hostel) close to both Ostbahnhof and Ku'Damm area?

4. Is Ku'Damm area near to all the tourist attractions in Berlin?

Berlin is the largest city in Germany. During the cold war when it was divided it developed separately in the east and west sectors. Because of this it has two of nearly everything. For example it has two Zoos; in the west Zoologischergarten and in the east Tiergpark (not to be confused with Tiergarten) (tier means 'animal'). Historically it had 22 boroughs for example Kreuzberg, Mitte and Charlottenburg. A few years ago boroughs were amalgamated and the number reduced to twelve. So now we have, e.g., Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The former (to use an Americanism) 'downtown' west Berlin is in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. This is where you will find Zoo (station and the nearby zoological garden) and the Ku'damm. KaDaWe is not in the Ku'damm - it is in Taunzienstra?e (one runs into the other). If you look at the map you will see that the Sbahn runs in an arc east to west over the top of the centre of the city. Zoo station is at the western end and Ostbahnhof is at the eastern end. This means that you cannot find a hostel that is near to both the Ku'damm and Ostbahnhof. That said, the Sbahn service between the two is really excellent and it only takes about 15 minutes. I would suggest Baxpax as a hostel (there is a website) it is in Skalitzerstra?e directly opposite the Gorlitzer Ubahnhof (line U1/U15) and bus route M29, both go to Ku'damm and about 10/15 minutes walk from Ostbahnhof. I am trying to write a script for an interactive, animated, staff training program for young adults, 17 鈥?25, for my thesis. I want my program to include information needed to be learned %26amp; games for the staff to play to reinforce the lessons. Look up "storyboarding". You need to write storyboards to explain what appears on each screen (artwork/animation, text, prompts) and any visible or invisible interactive spots/controls/interface elements. Of course, it also has to end up being an instructionally sound product. Opening verbal rap: I live in a little village outside of NYC; the town, I've heard, has from 6,000 to 20,000 people. I'm not a census taker so I don't know if these, numbers are close or way out there. Even if I lived in NYC, population 7,000,000, no way would I know them all. Hell I don't even know everybody from here! I grew up in a "railroad flat" apartment -- so called because the room layout is like a railroad car, and I suspect the house was built by the train company while the tracks were being laid to have a place for the workers to sleep. And this town is very typical suburban; picket fences and 2 car garages, except for "the rough side of town." This is written in honor of the place.

What is the difference between a BELT line and a TRUNK line?

I was flipping through some old Model Train magazines, and I came across an article about how this guy made a layout where there was an interchange between a City Belt Line and a Trunk Line.

I get that a Belt line connects the different railroads in the city to each other (Like the Belt Railway of Chicago, or the Indiana Harbor Belt) but I dont know what a TRUNK line really is (like the Grand Trunk Western). Can someone explain to me what one is? I would rather appreciate it. =]

I'm using it for editing pictures and making graphics for myspace trains.

The theme should match your logo, much like the one in your picture matches the multi colored Olympic rings logo.

Notice each color (and only those colors) from the logo are used throughout the image. Thats what makes it look so good ;).

I usually design the logo first, and then cater my theme towards that, and since that is the traditional logo for the Olympics obviously this person does the same.

I have always found less is more. A lot depends on your purpose and content. If you don't have much content, something reallly fancy may not be worth the effort. A simple flash page would be suitable. Like the previous person said, match colors and stuff. It's called a theme for a reason, it has certain common styles and elements. If you are consistent, it will look good.

Build bigger trains. I like 1 1/2" scale ride on stuff myself. The scenery is whatever nature throws at me. Ral weather and real water. It's nice to operate from the engineers seat too.

I don't see why you *must* have a theme, just ignore that silly person...but anyways if you know do want one...how about using the colour red from your dress and/or incorporating the Calla Lillie's in the design of your favors and invites.
How about a "wedding" theme? Whoever told you that you need a "theme" is being perfectly ridiculous. I would select invitations that work with the red color and/or the callalily flower motif. As far as favors, you could look at the time of year, or your hobbies... my personal favorite wedding favor is a "candy bar" where guests make bags of jellybeans, etc, in your colors, to go.

The cala lilies could even be your theme. They sell little picture frames with them on it that could be used as a place card holder and then given to the guests as their favor. There are lots of things you could get with cala lilies on it, the invitations, the guest book, you could have some put on the cake, and there are other favors with them on it, too. Depending on when your wedding is, you could do a spring, summer, or a fall theme. Or you could go with a hawaiian or a tropical theme. There is so much you can do. Ours was 4 weeks ago and it was a tropical theme. But we did it casual, too. Knee length dresses and flip flops.

I am looking, for a horse sim that is mainly about breeding and has genetics, but also has other options such as the ability to pick a discipline for a horse, train them, enter them in events, etc. I already know of Equine-Ranch and Some Horse Game. I have three questions regarding model trains. DCC, Track, Coupler conversion.?

I have just recently gotten back into model trains. I guess I have some leisure time on my hands working here in China and have set up a layout which is a work in progress.

My first question is regarding track and how to determine size that a curve will take up. I know from the track I have which is standard but I need a tighter curve and wonder how to accomplish this. I have read there is flexible track but I am in China and do not know where to obtain it. I also think if I had the shorter curve track that might solve my problem.

My second question is regarding the new style trains and the mentioning of DCC which I know about but have not concerned myself with getting into. The question is: Will a DCC train work on a standard transformer run track? I assume it will but not sure.

My third question is: I have some older trains with the old style couplers in HO gauge. Is there a conversion to the new style?

Howdy Ted!

Answer #1:

If you are going to use flex track, you measure from the center line of the track to position it on the layout from a calculated or decided radius. Depending on how much room you have and/or how long your longest passenger cars are, you need to determine the radius before you start. Once you decide on size, Templates for doing this are available on websites, you can purchase model railroad CAD software to help you, and/or the National Model Railroad Association's website is a great place to get detailed instructions on this subject. Their website is www.nmra.org

Answer #2:

The new engines and coaches from most companies that produce plastic trains are yes, DCC ready or DCC equipped. DCC Ready means that the motor is wired in a way that easily accepts a plug in DCC decoder (computer chip). You must purchase and install this chip before you can run it on a DCC layout. So any DCC-ready engine you can run on a normal DC analog layout (using a normal 15 volt DC output transformer).

DCC equipped engines are able to run right out of the box on DCC layouts. Most of these DCC equipped engines (I say most, but not ALL) can run right out of the box on Standard Analog (DC powered, like you want to use) layouts , too.

I hope you are not confused! Just remember that DCC Ready = "Analog layouts friendly"

While DCC-equipped means "Analog layout friendly, maybe...check with the manufacturer to be sure!"

And DC/Analog means "the good old days" of railroading, basically, its the normal old-fashioned method.

Answer #3:

Depending on the company and date of manufacture of your rolling stock, you may be able to get coupler conversions done. I am assuming you have "horn hook" type couplers and want the new Kadee-compatible style couplers. If its Athearn blue-box or similar, it can be done. If its Tyco or Model Power, I am not so sure.

If you are referring to the Power Loc track being interchangeable among different Life-Like (LL) sets, then yes, and they will work with all other LL equipment of the same scale. If you have an HO set, which it sounds like, than be sure and purchase HO accessories (like people, buildings, trees, etc.) at the hobby shop. Everything is labeled (HO, N, Z, G, etc.) so don't worry about if you are purchasing the right scale.

I have an opportunity to learn CMOS IC layout. Is their job opportunities with this training?

Just a quick search showed a number of open jobs in this area. Although if this is all you know about electronics, IC design, etc. it will be difficult to find a position.

You probably would also at least want to learn the basics of Verilog/VHDL. Also if you want to be very good at it you probably want to learn the basic principles it is based off of.

Some of your favorite games might support the creation of "mods" which are mini-additions created in the games program that you can make available to other players of the game. Thats a great way to get a feel for what does and doesnt work.

Model Trains?

I have an o-scale layout. I have an mth train engine that is stuck. the engine will turn on but the engine will not go forward or back. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

First move it to another section of track. If it still doesn't move, the problem is in the gear box. Have you tried touching leads from the transformer straight onto the wheels and pickups? If the wheels turn then it might be a bad spot in the track. If that doesn't work turn the engine upside down and remove the body, there should be two screws that hod it onto the frame. remove them and gently pry the body off. That way you can access the running gear. Could be that there's a string wrapped around something and holding it back. Or, one of the lead wires came off the motor.

I've been to university and finished a degree, but now am not interested in that anymore.

Familiarize yourself with Adobe Creative Suite!!! If you want to get into design, you need to be somewhat fluent in these programs. They are a designer's right hand...literally...your hand becomes part of your mouse. Once you get that down, start with business cards, wedding invitation, and stationary packages for friends, family and local businesses. If you are very determined and work hard, you can become successful on your own. I did not major in graphic design and this is how I got started. You have to be able to market yourself. Anytime you hear someone say they need a business card, jump in and offer - modestly if possible. Once you get a few things done, build yourself a website to keep as a live portfolio and make business cards for yourself. Try bartering with friends who are starting new business ventures, this way you can get some great stuff and they can get some design work. I've gotten all kinds of stuff - jewelry, yard work, deck remodeling, hair styles, and all of my facials and makeup for my wedding. It's a lot of fun making someone's business look good on paper. Make that your personal motto, and you'll make yourself look good. When it comes to getting paid, don't overprice yourself but don't sell yourself short either. Good luck!

Try sign making.It is one of the best ways to get in on what happens in your city,where the art goes,what it is ,and whose art it does well with.Say a sculpture on a windy corner that changes with the wind.or Realtor signs.
If you can narrow your list down and come up with some better definitions of what you want to do the answers might come a little easier. It sounds like you are interested in either Graphic Design or possibly some other type visual presentation dealing with displays of some sort. I recommend taking a class or two to get some work in your portfolio. Once you have a few things to show you can probably find an paid/un-paid internship with a design firm.

If that doesn't help, google different jobs you are interested in and see what the companies are looking for. You might be able to make a portfolio by just finding examples of what you want to do and making your own version of that.

Go down to your local hobby shop and pick up a copy of the magazine Garden Railways. While you are there look or ask if they have any good starter sets. You can usually get a decent starter set reasonably cheap. A good brand to look for is Aristo-Craft. There is also a book that should be in the hobby shop called Getting Started in Garden Railroading. It tells you the ends and outs of laying the roadbed and wiring up the track etc. There are several options you can go with in garden railroads. I like those live steamers, but they are rather pricey.

If it dusty, use compressed air to blow off the dust. If the tracks have a build up on them, I have used an eraser to remove it, and a q-tip with alcohol to remove the stuff from the tight areas.

You can buy specialized track cleaner. It'll have instructions on the bottle, but basically you rub it on with a clean dry cloth.

I suggest you try a technique that some athletes train to called "Fartlek". It does sound odd but it's based on interval training (Training programs vary between bouts of heavy or very heavy work with periods of rest or light work).

I needed to get into "basketball shape" last season (explosive movements, cardio, speed, strength) fairly quickly, and this method helped me. It does normally take a little dedication, I suggest training with a friend and making it fun. I'll be doing this soon as basketball training will be starting for me soon...Too bad I don't know you!! :D

My first thought is that it is ridiculous to say you must be 5ft 4in tall. My wife is shorter than that and she is a fine tennis player. There have also been some good pros shorter than that also. Amanda Coetzer and Rosie Casals come to mind regarding that.

To improve the mile time you will have to run more than 1 mile a day. 2 or 3 miles a day is what I would recommend. You can do that in 20 to 30 minutes, and less as you improve. You should be able to handle the amount of exercise involved.

Just find a code where you can paste a picture above your page, like both of those MySpace's have. Achieving a layout like that is impossible unless you know graphic designing inside and out.

Also, if you want your page to have a more sophisticated 'professional' look, you need to hide a couple of things using hiding codes, and don't stretch out the page.

It depends on how large your layout is.

If it's a small set-up it may not pay to change it over.

But if it's a large layout it would make operations much easier.

I'm guessing you are trying to run all 7 engines at once, this can be done easily with DCC.

You say your locomotives are all less than ten years old.

Depending on the manufacturer you should be able to add DCC to most if not all of them. There are plenty of after market makers for DCC today.

If you have a half way decent hobby shop in your area they can help you choose the correct controller for each engine.

Wiring the track is much easier than wiring the trains.

I say go for it.
